Rates & Insurance

Yeah, this is where we have the dreaded money and time conversations. It’s one of those things no one really likes, but has to be done (kind of like PT the morning after a long shift or… other activities). Typical intake sessions last about an hour, and subsequent counseling sessions are usually just under 60 minutes. Please note all appointment times are offered in CST/Central time zone.

Need to use insurance? I got you! I’m in-network with TRICARE East, Cigna, United Healthcare/Optum, UMR, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you’re not sure if your plan covers my services, look at the number on the back of the card and call your plan. Alternatively, you can reach out and we’ll figure it out together.

For those who don’t want to get insurance involved, or if I’m out of network with your plan, I currently accept credit card/HSA/FSA payment. I offer a sliding scale model based on income*. I can refer you to wonderful resources if you need assistance paying and don’t have insurance but still want to work with me.

*Sliding scale private pay slots are limited

Private pay rates (don’t let this run you off – take a deep breath and refer back to the above)**:

  • $200 – Psychiatric diagnostic evaluation (this is the first session)
  • $150 – up to 60 minutes of therapy
  • $125 – up to 45 minutes of therapy
  • $250/first 60 minutes of unscheduled crisis counseling
  • $150 each additional 30 minutes of unscheduled crisis counseling

**Annual adjustments occur on January 1 commensurate with increased costs to operate the practice, e.g., credit card processing fees

Services not covered by insurance – Inquire for more info:

  • CISM/CISD and peer support consultation
  • Employee assistance consultation and education for leadership
  • Speaking engagements
  • Article writing/Media appearances – I love collaborating, especially on articles and podcasts! If you think I can add value to your publication, program, or audience, please call me at (314) 297-0331 or shoot me an email at beth@tlc-help.com

Due to the nature of telehealth/virtual counseling, it is essential that you have access to emergency and crisis services. If you are feeling unsafe at any time, please call 911 (physical emergencies) or 988 (mental health crisis/emergencies). You can also visit your nearest emergency room, behavioral health urgent care, or crisis center. Check to see if your agency has a peer support team – they can also point you in the right direction. Please see my “Contact Me” tab for additional resources.

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what services may cost: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
