Counseling for Our Military: You Sacrifice – You Deserve Support

Counseling for Our Military: You Sacrifice – You Deserve Support

The strength and resilience required for military service are unique, and your experiences can sometimes feel overwhelming. I understand the challenges faced by active-duty personnel, veterans, retirees, and their families. As a military granddaughter, sister, friend, and the spouse of a 22-year retired USMC veteran, I’m familiar with the lifestyle, culture, and expectations.

At Thin Line Counseling Services, LLC, I offer specialized, confidential mental health treatment tailored to your needs. I’m a Star Behavioral Health Provider through the Center for Deployment Psychology at the Uniformed Services University, and Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University. I regularly participate in ongoing continuing education, keeping me up to date on the latest and very best in mental health treatment for our military.

Why Choose Thin Line Counseling Services for Military Mental Health Therapy?

  • I speak your language. I know your life is dominated by acronyms, discipline, and hierarchies. Just as “TLC” can stand for Thin Line Counseling, it also represents Tender Loving Care. I’m skilled in helping veterans and active-duty personnel and am specially trained in helping warriors navigate the challenges of military life, deployments, combat experiences, and homecoming. Unlike some therapists, I won’t go AWOL on you—loyalty and trust are my bread and butter.
  • I provide targeted support. I work to create a secure environment to get your situational awareness to a manageable place; this way, you have the freedom to lay it all out during our time together. My office is a place where you can yell, cuss, and tell dark jokes without being censored or alienated. That stated, I’m not afraid to call you out, yet do it in a way that doesn’t feel like a dress down. You’re an individual with a history that no one else can possibly know—I treat that with the honor and respect it deserves.
  • I specialize in treating military stress-related conditions. I have 10+ years of experience addressing military-related issues and providing effective, powerful, actionable treatment plans. Issues I treat include depression, sleep disturbances/insomnia, moral injury, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress, among others.

  • I make treatment accessible and convenient by offering flexible scheduling options. I offer appointments that accommodate shift work schedules, Walk & Talk sessions based on location, and virtual sessions in Missouri and Illinois. As soon as Counseling Compact applications open (projected early 2025), I’m going to apply to provide services across the nation. I also work with numerous insurance providers, including Tricare East Select and Prime.

Remember: In me, you have a battle buddy to fight the war within. Seeking help is a sign of strength and fortitude. You do PT for your health on the regular; now’s the time to practice your mental wellness skills as regularly as you do your drills.

I help military personnel process decisions that have been made that were difficult—and sometimes decisions that were not made that you later regret.
